Nicaragua - budget reflection

We stopped in the Corn Islands for a while and it was a much needed stop. Yes, we basically skipped Nicaragua as we only stayed in few other places that served more or less as a transit points. But, you know what-we do not care, as we do not have any regrets. Ok, there is one regret, we took the boat from the mainland. So, as soon as we landed we decided to book the flight for the way back. No explanation needed, believe me. Even my mum told me to stop explaining the boat horror as she was about to empty her stomach just by hearing it.

In Nicaragua we spent 14 days, as mentioned mostly on Big and Small Corn islands. We were on a budget as the islands are equipped for tourism. We were aware of that, so we choose accommodation with cheaper meals when we had to eat out (mostly Big Corn) and the one with a shared kitchen (Small Corn) to make our own meals. We probably saved some money due to my food poisoning as I lost my appetite for few days, but that is another story. Although on a budget, we only stayed in dorms for one night and double room for the rest which was kind of nice.

Our estimated budget for Nicaragua was 16.00 GBP per person per day and we got pretty close to it. I am much happier about that.
